Segment area The segment area of the Trackline serves to visually define tracking segments. All segments are arranged in time (horizontal axis) according to their temporal properties (the position of the key frame, tracking bounds in the forward and backward directions) and in data layers (vertical axis) that are combined bottom-up, with upper layers overriding the lower ones. Each segment is represented by its segment bar control:

The mask edit button located at the key frame position [2] is used to toggle the segment's mask edit mode. The front [3] and back [1] segment tips can be draged with a mouse to adjust the tracking range in both directions. Also, the back and front ends of the segment can be shifted to the current frame position by the commands (Alt+[ key ) and (Alt+] key ), respectively. Depending on the availability of computed data, different portions of the segment bar can have different colors. Thus, the interval A in the figure above contains valid computed data. The segment, however, was truncated and these data are not currently used in the composition. The interval B has valid data generated by backward tracking , and the interval C by forward tracking. The interval D has no computed data and the transformations for this interval are generated by extrapolation. |

Creating
and |
To create a new segment with the key frameat the current frame position, choose key). The newly created segment will appear in the uppermost layer, extending five frames in each direction and having default algorithm parameter values. The command works similarly, except that the algorithm settings are copied from the previously active segment. To delete the active segment, choose , or press DEL. |

Processing |
PatchMaker performs all computations in background, using a queue for segments subject to processing. When the active segment is added to the processing queue by choosing (ENTER key), it becomes "freezed", and its segment bar turns violet:
A segment can also be put in the processing queue by a double-click of a mouse on the segment bar. PatchMaker prevents any modification of "freezed" segments like relocating their tips or editing their setttings. When a segment is finished with and no longer in the queue, it takes on ts usual color, and its parameters become available for editing. To drop a segment from the processing queue, choose (ESC key). The commands and serve to enqueu and deque all segments in the composition at once. |
