Menu commands

File menu

Item Description
Create a new project from the given footage as underlay
Open an existing project
Save current project
Save current project with a new name
Close current project
Import an overlay from given file(s), replacing current one
Render current composition to a sequence of images or an AVI sequence. The output sequence may contain the underlay with applied overlay, or the overlay with alpha channel.
Place current transformations to the clipboard and switch, if possible, to the AE application
Save the description of current transformations to the given file
Contains user settings. See below.
Close the application

File|Preferences menu

Item Description
Define the size of the cache, in percents of RAM. Clear the cache, if necessary.
Select the default format for rendering
Define the presence of the alpha channel in the output video
Define the presence and the type of interlacing in the output video
Define initial alignment of the overlay relative to the underlay, in case when they differ in dimensions
Define the default alpha interpretation for the overlay footage
Choose the language of property hints in the property editor

Edit menu

Item Description
Undo the last action
Redo the last undone action
Delete the active object
Display a list of currently undoable actions
Display a list of currently redoable actions

Segment menu

Item Description
Create a new segment with the key frame in the position of the current frame and default algorithm parameters
Create a new segment with the key frame in the current position, and copy algorithm parameters from previously active segment
Activate the below segment (or the topmost segment if none was active)
Activate the above segment (or the bottommost segment if none was active)
Import a mask for current segment from a file
Export the mask of the active segment to a file
Start or resume processing of current segment
Cancel processing of current segment
Erase computed data beyond the bounds of active segment
Place all segments of the composition into the processing queue
Cancel processing and remove all segments of the composition from the processing queue

Display menu

Item Description
Switch the View window to the preview mode
Switch the View window to the mask editing mode, and start editing the mask of the active segment
Double the View scale
Halve the View scale
Adjust the View scale so that the frame fits the window size
Set the View scale to 100%
Toggle the display of the underlay in the View
Toggle the display of the overlay in the View
Toggle the display of the mask in the View
Set the background color in the View
Set the opacity for the overlay in the View
Set the mask color in the View
Set the opacity for the mask in the View
Choose the interpolation method for the View (between fast Nearest Neighbour and precise Bilinear)
Define if masked or unmasked pixels of the mask are displayed as a colored region

Time menu

Item Description
Go to the beginning of the composition
Go to the beginning of the work area
Go to previous frame
Play the composition in backward direction
Stop the playback
Play the composition in forward direction
Go to next frame
Go to the end of the work area
Go to the end of the composition
Go to the back end of the active segment
Go to the front end of the active segment
Set the current frame to the frame with given number
Toggle the Follow mode for the View
Define if the Follow mode is activated automatically each time a new segment starts processing
Toggle the Loop mode for the playback
Set the frame rate for the preview playback

Trackline menu

Item Description
Double the time scale
Halve the time scale
Set the maximum time scale at which the whole composition fits the window
Set the current frame as the work area start
Set the current frame as the work area end
Set the back end of the active segment to current position
Set the front end of the active segment to current position

After Effects menu

Item Description
Launch, if needed, an AE application, and switch to it
Transfer active footage from AE to PatchMaker as an underlay, and start a new project with it
Transfer active footage from AE to PatchMaker as an overlay (live or static)
Transfer the whole PatchMaker project to AE as a new composition
Export current transformations to AE and apply to the active layer

View menu

Item Description
Toggles the visibility of the right panel bar
Toggles the visibility of the Trackline panel
Toggles the visibility of the status bar

Help menu

Item Description
Displays the starting page of the PatchMaker manual
Displays information about PatchMaker version, authors, and copyright.
