Creating A mask

There are two ways you create a mask for the key frame of a segment: to draw it yourself in the built-in mask editor, or to import it from a binary (1 bit per pixel) BMP file.

To import a previously prepared mask from a file, choose Segment|Import Mask... In the Import Mask dialog box that appears select formula1_15.bmp as a mask file from the folder ...\PatchMaker\example\formula1\mask.

To draw a mask manually, switch to the mask editing mode by clicking the key frame button:

or by switching the view mode in the Display Mode panel:

or by choosing Display|Edit Mask (M key).

Next, select the Brush tool in the Tools panel and paint the billboard over:

The mask is displayed as a semitransparent colored region. Its color, opacity and inversion can be adjusted using controls of the Display Mode panel:

A - Color, B - Opacity, C - Inversion

or by choosing corresponding items of the Display menu.
